The Signature Care Guide

Preserving Your Story of Beauty

At LuxeLoom by Akna, we believe that every heritage weave and contemporary silhouette carries a unique story. To ensure your cherished pieces maintain their timeless grace, vibrant colors, and premium texture, we have curated this specialized care guide for our

Modern Muses.

Proper care is a ritual that honors the artistry of the weavers and the quality of the textiles you wear.

1. The Heritage Silk & Banarasi Collection

Includes: Soft Silk, Banarasi Cotton Silk, and Khadi Silk Sarees.

These delicate fibers and intricate zari works require the utmost gentle handling to preserve their royal sheen.

  • The First Wash: We strongly recommend Professional Dry Clean Only for the first few washes to lock in the rich dyes and protect the gold zari.

  • Washing at Home: If necessary, use only a mild liquid detergent in cold water. Never soak your silk sarees for more than 5 minutes.

  • Drying: Always dry your silk in a cool, shaded area. Direct sunlight can "sunburn" the natural fibers, leading to fading and brittleness.

  • The Storage Ritual: Store your sarees in a clean cotton or muslin bag. This allows the fabric to breathe while preventing the gold zari from oxidizing or turning dark. Avoid using plastic covers.

2. The Modern Co-ord Collection

Includes: Premium Rayon and Viscose Sets.

Our rayon and viscose materials are chosen for their "buttery-soft" feel and liquid-like drape. To keep them soft and perfectly fitted:

  • Wash Cycle: Hand wash in cold water or use the "Delicate/Gentle" cycle on your machine. Avoid hot water, as it can cause these natural fibers to shrink.

  • No Wringing: Do not twist or wring the fabric to remove water. Instead, gently squeeze and lay the garment flat on a clean towel to dry.

  • Ironing: Use a cool to medium iron. It is best to iron these sets while they are slightly damp or use a pressurized steam iron for a crisp, professional finish.

3. The Denim Edit

Includes: Embroidered and Solid Denim Co-ord Sets.

To maintain the perfect fit and the vibrancy of our deep indigo and charcoal washes:

  • Inside Out: Always turn your denim sets inside out before washing. This protects the delicate floral embroidery and prevents the outer fabric from fading.

  • Cold Water: Wash with similar colors in cold water to preserve the elasticity and "true-to-size" fit.

  • Drying: Air dry your denim. Avoid heavy tumble drying, which can damage the embroidery threads over time.

General Tips for Every Muse

  • Rotation: Give your garments a "rest" between wears. This allows the fibers to return to their original shape, especially for silk and rayon.

  • Perfumes: Avoid spraying perfumes directly onto the fabric or zari, as the chemicals can cause permanent staining or tarnishing.

  • Ironing Zari: When ironing a saree with heavy zari, always place a thin cotton cloth over the work to act as a protective barrier.

A Note on Color Accuracy

Kindly note that while we strive for absolute accuracy in our studio photography, actual product colors may differ slightly due to natural lighting effects and individual monitor settings. This nuance is part of the unique journey of handcrafted luxury.
